A recent graduate of East Asian Studies (M.A.) at the Ruhr University Bochum with a focus on Japanese linguistics and an avid contributor to the Thesaurus Linguae Sericae (TLS), my main concern will be the discovery (and, later on, systematic analysis) of linguistic patterns in the language of mathematical texts in Ancient China. Syntactic analysis of not only accompanying text but also occurring number words as well as formulation of hypotheses on semantic derivation of technical terms are among my concrete research interests.
